Incubating fertile praying mantis ooths are usually a success when conditions are right.
Even in the best hands sometimes things can go wrong for unexplainable reasons.
We use an incubation method which can increase your success and make it easier
Our praying mantis egg incubating container setup the way I hatch ooths will prevent most problems. It will help prevent some problems and simplify maintenance
But still and fair warning, never guaranteed to hatch.
To prevent over filling and to prevent hatching nymphs in net lining drowning we perforate with several overflow drain holes just above the 3/4” mark.
All that’s needed is to keep the water from fully evaporating (if so add some more water) and at a temperature ~70-85F . I suggest checking your ooth every 5-7 days and misting even a gentle wipe with a clean wet paper towel or wet artist brush .
