Incubating fertile praying mantis ooths are usually a success when conditions are right.
Even in the best hands sometimes things can go wrong for unexplainable reasons.
We use an incubation method which can increase your success and make it easier

But still and fair warning, never guaranteed to hatch.
Things that can go wrong
-too dry
-too hot
-mold or mildews
-too wet
-too cold
-contamination by chemicals, cleaning product or anything in the container, spray bottle or other.
Other breeders use different methods for incubating praying mantis eggs and depending on your environment and level of experience can also be effective.
The container is lined with nylon mesh to catch and protect the delicate newborn nymphs. We use activated carbon to help keep the 3/4” of purified water clean. You’ll add (bottled water is good).
To prevent over filling and to prevent hatching nymphs in net lining drowning we perforate with several overflow drain holes just above the 3/4” mark.
All that’s needed is to keep the water from fully evaporating (if so add some more water) and at a temperature ~70-85F . I suggest checking your ooth every 5-7 days and misting even a gentle wipe with a clean wet paper towel or wet artist brush .
