Outbred wild type flies can be more annoying and difficult to control than flightless fruit flies but they also tend to more vigorous and prolific than mutants and they may be better for some. Many aerial web weavers, birds, herps and insects prefer or have special adaptations for taking flying insects.
Packaging
Live pupae are shipped with an absorbent (corn meal) in fabric bags wrapped in paper towelling and gel packs.
